Avocado oil (Persea Gratissima)
Derived from the fruit’s seeds, avocado oil has long been a moisturising icon within African skincare. It has an abundance of fatty acids in its structure. Moreover, many of which are noted for their skin hydrating benefits. For example, linolenic acid (also known as Vitamin F) was celebrated for its exceptional anti-inflammatory and skin barrier repair effects in a study published in 2017. This reduces the damage that UV rays and air pollutants can have, reducing the signs of ageing.

A 2000 study found that applying olive oil to the skin offered a layer of UV protection to slow down tumour growth due to the presence of the powerful compound hydroxytyrosol. Rosa Canina Fruit Oil
Known within the cosmetics world as rosehip oil, this remarkable ingredient absorbs easily throughout the skin. It has a high omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acid content. It allows the skin to support the skin cells regeneration process and maintain a strong, protective barrier. In 2015, a study showed the anti-ageing properties of rosehip oil. This was largely due to its hydrating benefits and ability to maintain strong cell health. It also includes Vitamin A and C which are both essential in the production of collagen. And, scientists have also found that it inhibits the enzyme MMP-1 which is known to break down collagen found within the body.
